Sherry Ann McGregor, President
A practicing Attorney-at-Law since 1999, Sherry Ann McGregor is a partner in one of the largest firms in the island, Nunes Scholefield DeLeon & Co. She specialises in the areas of civil litigation and mediation, with special emphasis on family, commercial, insurance, personal injury and contentious probate proceedings in all the courts of Jamaica. She is the President of the Jamaican Bar Association and presently serves as their representative on the board of the Dispute Resolution Foundation.
After graduating from the Norman Manley Law School and being admitted to practice in 1999, Sherry Ann joined the firm of Nunes Scholefield DeLeon & Co as well as the Jamaican Bar Association ("JAMBAR"). Since then, she has served on the Civil Practice & Procedure and Publications Sub-Committees of JAMBAR, before being elected to Council in 2008, where she held the positions of Assistant Treasurer (2011 – 2012) and Treasurer (2013 – 2014). She was elected to the post of Vice President in March 2014 until being elected President in March, 2016.
Sherry Ann is a director of JN General Insurance Company Limited and the Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee of the Kingston School of Nursing. She also served as chairperson of the Legal & Ethical Sub-committee of the National AIDS Committee and as a member of Board of Management of Wolmer's High School for Girls. She is a well-known and prolific columnist for the Gleaner's Flair Magazine, writing the widely read column "Laws of Eve".
